Since 1991, Calvary Houston’s mission has been to connect people to the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.  Everyone who enters the church is welcomed into the family of God. The church believes that its role in God’s Kingdom is to reach outside its borders, even to the ends of the world. Through Bible-based teachings, evangelism, discipleship, and worship, the church is willing to help its members mature to become empowered believers.

 

Founded in 1991 by Pastor Ron Hindt, Calvary Church Houston started as a small home fellowship that focused on contemporary worship and expositional teaching of the Bible. Calvary Houston believes it is the job of the church to feed the sheep or its disciples as healthy sheep beget more healthy sheep. The members are taught through the Bible line upon line, precept upon precept so that the church might grow up into maturity and affect the world.

 

Through the years, the church has then grown to serve thousands of members each week. It is an evangelical church that believes in a balance of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Calvary Houston believes it is essential to winning the lost for Christ; praying continually for God to mightily use the members to win more souls for the Kingdom.

 

The ministry of Calvary Church Houston has expanded to include daily radio broadcasts of Founder and Pastor Ron Hindt’s unique, expositional style of teaching. These half-hour broadcasts known as “Larger Than Life” are aired daily throughout the United States.
